Challenges
In the majority of cases, industrial supply of compressed air comes from electrical compressors.
Often electricity is still generated from fossil-fuel. This, combined with the poor efficiency of compressing air, results in compressed air being expensive and heavy on CO2 emissions.
Benefits
The H2P thermodynamic cycle naturally generates compressed air from a heat source.
Being able to harness this key feature improves overall efficiency and reduces electricity consumption.
Path to CO2 neutrality
Air compressors, on average, have a 50% efficiency. This means that a 5 kW electric compressor is wasting 2.5 kW when in use.
Being able to replace this 5 kW input, with previously wasted energy, opens-up a path towards CO2 neutrality.
The H2P compressed air option is the most efficient solution to supply industrial equipment with a carbon-neutral air supply.
